Every year, a group of new students, new employees, and new faculty start at our Arizona higher education institutions. And every year, these new workers are regaled with orientations about all the wonderful resources and events happening at their respective campus: how our United Student Resources plan works (and not how graduate students are excluded from its negotiation), how to access SAILS at ASU or DRC at UA (and not how these services are systemically underfunded), or how to apply for a role in GPSC or GSG (and not how student governments are shut down and strongarmed).
Dis-Orientation serves to fill the gaps between what administration presents and reality on campus. Hosted by your campus labor union, United Campus Workers of Arizona CWA Local 7065, Dis-Orientation is a local organizations fair that unites community groups on (and off) campus as a coalition to explain what REALLY happens at our universities. We will offer presentations from on-campus student-run groups and off-campus community advocacy groups to get you tapped in to organizing, mutual aid, and advocacy groups all around your campus.
This year’s Dis-Orientation is scheduled for Wednesday, September 10th from 5 to 8pm at Arizona State University (ASU), Northern Arizona University (NAU), and the University of Arizona. RSVP here or at the button below for more information about Dis-Orientation on your campus.
