Some Context

Our union United Campus Workers of Arizona CWA Local 7065 started in 2020 with concerned faculty and staff at the University of Arizona as CAJUA; we were joined by workers at Arizona State University later in the year; in 2024, the members of UUNA at Northern Arizona University voted to join us. This year, 2025, marks the first year we can together as the three foremost public universities in Arizona embark on a unified, state-wide campaign.  We have the spent the past four years building our power as a union on these campuses together, and now we are joining in a broad coalition with our community partners, colleagues, peers across the state on this public campaign to defend public education. In the face of broad and ongoing federal attacks, this moment is particularly important as one in which we decide to be unified.

Three people with their backs turned to the camera. They all wear grey tshirts with blue text that reads "Join Your Union."

What We Plan to Accomplish

Our goal in creating this petition is to unify our campus communities, our colleagues, the students and families who depend upon us. To unify all of us to defend public education. Through the advocacy and organizing of a public petition, we intend to form a united coalition with all participating groups and individuals to legislatively and politically act to change the atmosphere and conversation about education on all levels in Arizona.

So, What Can I Do?

Spread the word!

We need YOUR HELP to get to 5,000 signatures on this campaign by October 2025. We intend for this petition to reach Arizona educators at all levels; families and students we serve; the businesses and residents who depend on their employees, neighbors, and community members seeking a quality education.
