Political Action Fund
The Political Action Fund (PAF) is a non-partisan political action committee that fights for workers’ political power. This gives us a chance to have our voices heard at all levels of government, which is so important right now, considering the upcoming elections. PAF contributions support policies and candidates that defend workers rights.
Did you know that some of our very own union members are running for office to make a material difference in local, state, and national policy? To make the changes we need to achieve collective bargaining, to protect academic freedom, to win more public funding for education, thriving wages, and job security, we need pro-union politicians in office at the state level. We have members including Priya Sundareshen, Lauren Kuby, and Miranda Schubert already representing us, and we’re excited to see other members running for office.
To build the kind of power necessary to actually win in this hostile environment, we need community members to make donations to the Political Action Fund. The average contribution from members who give monthly is $10. Are you able to give $10/month?
To contribute to PAF, follow these steps:
- Go to https://form.jotform.com/CWA7065/update-membership
- Click “Change my dues levels or donations”
- Fill out your name, email, phone number
- Under dues levels, click “leave the same”
- Scroll down to “Make an edit to your monthly donations” and select an amount in our PAF section
- Scroll to the bottom and click submit
As a member-led, rank and file organization, UCWAZ is able to continue organizing Arizona’s higher education workers because community members like you fund our collective work. Thank you for your commitment in fighting for our vision of higher education that works for all students and workers!
